Details

The TY-057 is a round black motor with a scalloped flange that carries a series of evenly spaced mounting holes, plus a fixed central shaft collar and a domed cover. The scalloped outline is both functional and distinctive: the notches reduce weight and material while keeping the mounting points strong, and they allow cooling air to pass the rim. This is the classic style of outdoor unit fan motor used in air-conditioners and heat pumps, where the motor is bolted to a bracket in the middle of the grille and drives a large axial fan against wind, rain and sun. The black finish is a weather-resistant coating that prevents rust and fading, and the housing is stamped from steel for rigidity under thermal expansion. The motor's windings are protected by additional insulation and a sealing arrangement that keeps out splashed water and insects, and the cable exit is protected from abrasion. Because outdoor units often run in summer heat for many hours, the motor features a high-temperature grease and a low-resistance winding to limit self-heating. The central shaft is thick and sturdy, designed to take the continuous thrust and cantilever load from a large propeller-type blade, and a keyed or flatted end locks the blade securely.
