Details

The TY-100 is a round-bodied industrial motor finished in black and carried on a solid steel foot bracket. A large cylindrical housing at the rear contains the running capacitor, giving the whole unit a heavy, balanced silhouette that fits bench-mounted machines and floor-standing equipment. The foot bracket has several mounting holes so that the motor can be fixed securely to a base plate with bolts, a configuration commonly specified for compressors, small pumps, grinding machines, wood-working tools and workshop blowers. Black coating is applied over the steel shell to prevent rust and to keep a neat appearance after years in oily or damp surroundings. The motor offers strong starting torque, thanks to its capacitor-run winding, which is important when the load is heavy at start-up, as with pumps or belts. It runs at a steady speed under varying load and generates less electrical noise than brushed universal motors, making it a suitable replacement for noisy, short-lived designs. A thick shaft with a keyway provides secure power transmission to pulleys and couplings, and the bearings are sized to bear radial loads from belts. Because the capacitor is integrated into the housing, there is no need for an external box, and wiring is limited to a compact lead set. We customize voltage, power, rotation direction and shaft length, and we can include a thermal protector to guard against stalled-rotor conditions. Compared with the lighter Model 106, the TY-100 is aimed at buyers who need higher output and sturdier mounting; compared with the TY-108 it offers a more traditional rounded form.
